Furious 7 Roars Past Paul Blart 2, Unfriended

No new release could match the box office horsepower of reigning champ Furious 7 this weekend.


The latest installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise -- which roared past the $1 billion threshold a few days ago -- topped the box office for the third straight weekend with an estimated $29.1 million.


Furious 7 held off newcomers Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and Unfriended, which debuted with $24 million and $16 million, respectively. Monkey Kingdom debuted in seventh place with $4.7 million.
