No 20th Century Fox Opening for Star Wars on Digital

The opening credits for each of the Star Wars movies, except for the original, have been modified for their new digital release.


Since all of the films, following Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, were made by Lucasfilm independently (and Disney now owns them completely), the mention of 20th Century Fox has been removed from The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and all three prequels. You can see the new intro below.


While they released all six films, 20th Century Fox only holds the distribution rights to the original so Disney couldn't remove its branding from A New Hope's opening credits. As such, Episode IV's opening remains unaltered.
