Nintendo revealed Splatoon, its upcoming third-person shooter, will have a dedicated set of amiibo at launch.
Splatoon’s amiibo will be available in a single pack that includes an Inkling girl, an Inkling boy, and an Inkling Squid on May 29, the same day of the game’s retail launch. Only the Inkling boy and Inkling girl amiibo will be available for purchase separately.
When a player scans an Inlkling amiibo to the Wii U GamePad, they’ll receive special missions. By completing these missions, players will unlock equipment and gear that can only be received via these compatible amiibo.
